CR is Loving – The Best of Business Support

After the unexplained lull in spirits last week, I’m pleased to report that the Clarity Road office is back to our enthusiastic (and sometimes wild) best.
New programs = renewed passion and purpose.
To stay on top of our game, we have been brushing up on all of the support services that help out women in the workplace.

Here’s a sneak peak at the best of the best in business.

Suited to Success

Suited to Success is a Brisbane-based organisation that offers business clothing and support to unemployed people struggling to enter or return to the workforce to become self-sufficient and financially independence. But they don’t stop there – Suited to Success also run work readiness programs, and offer support and advice on personal presentation, job applications, interview techniques and building self-confidence. In short, the organisation gives disadvantaged women and men a fair go when it comes to finding employment. What’s not to love?

Check out Suited to Success, here.

LABS Group

Business ventures don’t always go so well. Sometimes, they end in disaster. LABS group is there to help people who are in various stages of business and/or financial loss. LABS Groups was founded by a husband and wife, Paul and Paula Misipeka, who risked it all by starting their own business…and then lost it all during the GFC (read more of their story here).

Rather than allowing their situation to defeat them, Paul and Paula started LABS group with the intention of creating a support network for people like them.  The group has expanded and now offer various support and training programs all about recovery, re-evaluating your worklife and getting back on track.

See their website for more info.

Flying Solo

Flying Solo is an online wealth of information for anyone looking to start their own business in Australia. Whether you need help with startup, marketing, technology or anything in between, Flying Solo has it all. What’s more, the site is also host to an extensive forum of more than 67 000 members where you can throw out your business questions and receive answers from people who have walked the road before you.

There is nothing to lose by visiting this site – so give it a go here!

Australian Businesswomen’s Network (ABN)

ABN is an online membership community designed to teach women the skills to start, manage and grow their business. Through the website you can access free eBooks, podcasts, videos, articles and other resources centred on being a woman in business.

There are a lot of networking sites out there. But what we really find valuable about ABN is the level of support and sense of community they create online.

If you need a reminder that you aren’t alone in this whole trying-to-make-it-work thing, head to ABN now.

It could be taking a holiday, going to the hair dresser, doing a dance class, art class, or yoga, meditation, deep breathing, laughing with a friend, or visualising a happy place. “Stress mode” cannot coexist with “relaxation mode”, so find a way to relax and take a break.
