Legal Aid – In each state and territory, legal aid commissions deliver a wide range of legal assistance services in criminal, family and civil law matters. Some legal assistance is available free-of-charge to everyone, including through free brochures, information sessions or telephone legal advice.
The Women’s Legal Service is a national network of community legal centres specialising in women’s legal issues. They are part of the National Association of Community Legal Centres (NACLC). Their mission is to promote a legal system that is safe, supportive, non-discriminatory and responsive to the needs of women accessing justice. The individual Member Centres regularly provide advice, information, casework and legal education to women on particularly family law and family violence matters but can also provide advice on more general legal issues.

National Association of Community Legal Centres are independently operating not-for-profit community organisations that provide legal and related services to the public, focusing on the disadvantaged and people with special needs. You can search for a Community Legal Centre in your area.
